Toshiba has unveiled that they will be launching an Android tablet, which will have a high-end specification.

The new tablet  will have a 10.1 inch touch-screen with “Adaptive Display” technology. Adaptive Display technology automatically adjusts the brightness and contrast of the display according to the ambient lighting conditions.

The display runs at a resolution of 1280*800 pixels and has an aspect ratio of 16:10. It also features Toshiba Resolution+ which enhances the quality of standard definition videos in order to capitalise on the HD display.

3DTV didn’t do badly last year – estimates put global sales at around 4 million units, which isn’t too shabby considering the economic depression and the fact that this is brand new technology.

But Toshiba evidently reckons the 3D glasses are a turn-off when it comes to the technology, and is promising a glasses-free range of large screen 3DTVs for Europe, America and Japan before the end of 2011.
